Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell

Ah, Tom Clancy...The author that has made such great tactical shooters asRainbow Six and Ghost Recon. Those games were great because of the extreme realism and terrorist killin' action.I loved those games, too bad Splinter Cell is different. Or is it [too bad]?

Even Though Splinter Cell is different it still looks sweet. It even looks better than those tactical shooters. Instead of controlling an eleter strike team, you'll control Sam Fisher, an elete black ops operative for Third Echelon, a top secret NSA (National Security Administration) sub-agency. Anyway, lets get down to buisness...

GRAPHICS
The graphics in Splinter Cell are the best I've seen since Resident Evil, and this game has full 3D backgrounds. Check out these screens and you'll see what I mean. There aren't words to describe the lighting affects in this game you can turn off or shhot out lights to make safe passageways. You can also bump a light to set it swinging. It's fun just to watch the swaying shadows. The shadows aren't just for looks, either. If you are in the shadows a enemy can be right beside you and not notice. Also, an enemy can think he notices you, but if you don't move he will say,"I must be going mad" or somthing and contiue about his buisness. Anyway, the graphics are amazing.

STORY
I have no info on the story, plus, if I did, I don't like spoilers and I wouldn't want to write some. All I can tell you is that Tom Clancy dosen't write Metal Gear Solid 2 storylines so, in a word, it's gunna be great.

WEAPONS AND GADGETS
This is where if you havent alredy, you say, "This game is gunna be sa-weeet!!!!". This game has so many gadgets that it's nearly impossible to name them all, but I'll try:
*Multi-Spectrum Goggles-Your most important gadget. Has night and thermal vision.
*Deployable Reconnaissance Camera- Shoot onto a wall for a remote view.
*Destaction Device- same as above except this emits noise and nerve gas.
*Fiber-Optic Camera- use to look under doors.
*Security-Camera Jammer- used to copnfuse security cameras for a few seconds.
There aren't as many weapons, only two, in fact, but here they are:
*F2000 M.A.W.S.- fires bullets, recon cameras, and grenades. must earn add ons.
*Five-Seven Pistol- silent but deadly

THE REST OF IT...
Right now you're probably goin', "There's more?!?!". Yes, there's more, lots more. First there's a whole crapload of replay value, you can play through the game focussing on stealth and not kill a single person, or you do just the opposite. add easy, medium, and hard difficulties and you've got a game to play over and over and over again. One cool point I found was that you can, if you feel the need, kill innocent civilians! Remember Sam has total control to complete the mission by any means possible. Holy crap! I can't believe I almost forgot the Jackie Chan hallway splits! If you're in a hallway, you can do a wall-kick and prop yourself up by putting one foot on each side. You can then jump down on enemies or snipe 'dem. Another cool thing is that you can take enemies hostage to get them to do things or get information. Then you can knock them out by hitting them with the butt of your gun.

Well, that's about it, except for this: Splinter Cell has been called the "Metal Gear Killer". All I can say is, that is not a lie.
